Represented by Jeter Law Firm partner Chris Sook, an Ellis County resident recently settled a lawsuit filed on his behalf in Ellis County District Court. The case, in which damages were sought by Paul D. Rozean, Sr., stemmed from Mr. Rozean's injuries in an oilfield explosion and fire in September 2014.
Mr. Sook and Alan Johnson, co-counsel from the firm of Sloan, Eisenbarth, Glassman, McEntire & Jarboe, LLC, filed suit on behalf of Mr. Rozean in 2015 (Case No. 2015-CV-123). The complex case eventually involved six separate defendants, including the operator of the tank battery location where the accident occurred, the independent pumper for the site, the electricians that installed equipment on the tank battery's gun barrel where the accident occurred, two different supply houses involved in the sale of the equipment that Mr. Rozean alleged contributed to the accident and the manufacturer of the equipment.
All defendants denied and continued to deny any fault or liability, while Mr. Rozean maintained their actions contributed to the accident. Jeter Law Firm counsel assisted Mr. Rozean in negotiating terms of a confidential settlement that were not publicly disclosed, and the case was settled and dismissed in April 2018 before trial of the matter could occur.
