TYLER K. TURNER

PARTNER

Tyler Turner joined Jeter Law Firm in 2012, becoming a partner in 2016.  With an extensive background in agricultural and mineral law, he focuses his practice primarily in the oil and gas area.  Tyler is licensed to practice in Kansas and Nebraska.

Tyler earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from Kansas State University in Agricultural Economics and a dual bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Industry.  He has experience as both a research analyst and economist, serving as an economist for the State of Montana from 2005 through 2007.  His passion for the oil and gas industry took hold when he returned to Kansas as a landman researching mineral ownership and lease availability in 2008.  That passion led him to Washburn University School of Law, where he earned his law degree and where he has served as an adjunct instructor.

Tyler is a frequent presenter to bar association groups on the many problems and issues of mineral ownership and title examinations.  He represents oil and gas producers in all aspects of exploring for, producing, selling and transporting oil and gas.

A member of both the Kansas and Ellis County Bar Associations, Tyler is also a member of the Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association (KIOGA), the Wichita Association of Petroleum Landmen, and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.  He is a past president (2017-18) of the KBA's Oil & Gas Section.

Tyler is frequently on the road, but home is Andover, Kansas, with his wife, Rebecca, and their children.
