Help Wanted: Receptionist/Legal Assistant
Jeter Turner Sook Baxter, LLP, seeks a receptionist/legal assistant for our Hays office. The successful candidate must be friendly and have strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of greeting clients and answering phones in a professional setting. Other duties and responsibilities will vary depending on experience but will include transcribing dictation, updating and maintaining client files, handling mail, accurate proofreading of documents, tracking projects from start to finish, formatting legal documents and correspondence, scanning and editing documents, returning and sending email, keeping track of multiple attorneys’ schedules and maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
At a minimum, candidates must have a high school diploma; computer word processing skills; experience using Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel; be comfortable using phone systems, copiers, scanners, fax machines and printers; and a willingness to ask questions and learn. Prior experience as a bookkeeper or in a law firm setting is a plus, but is not required―we will train the right candidate. Hourly pay will be determined based upon experience. Start date is to be determined.
